Kick off meeting regarding the project HR.3.2.01-0262 \'\'Risk assessment of the pollution caused by rivers and discharges in costal areas\'\' was held

Kick off meeting of the project HR.3.2.01-0262 \"Risk assessment of the pollution caused by rivers and discharges in coastal areas\" was held on Tuesday July 7, 2015 in dean’s office at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy in Split. The project was financed by a non-refundable grant of the European Social Fund, as part of Human Resources Development programme. The objectives of the project are strengthening the research competencies of young researchers and postdoctoral researches and increasing their visibility and recognition in the international research domain. Duration of the project is from June 30 2015 till September 30 2016, and the total value of the project is  453,202.50 Kuna, fully financed by the European Social Fund and the Croatian State Budget.
 


The project is oriented towards the expansion of importance of sustainable development and conservation of water resources. The results of the research will be available to all interested stakeholders on the website of the Applicant for the duration of the project. A free forum for the support of CPoRT users (free computer application) will remain active after the completion of the project. Use of the application will be provided to the Applicant students in the Coastal Engineering course where they will have the opportunity to get acquainted with all the problems regarding the pollution in coastal areas with the emphasis on issues generated by rivers and discharges.


The meeting was attended by the project manager and researcher Morena Galešić, mag.ing.aedif., the mentor Prof. Snjezana Knezić, Ph. D.,  a researcher on the project, Vladimir Divić, Ph.D., and representatives of the institution where the project takes place, dean Boris Trogrlić Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. and procurement manager Andjelko Šegvić, B.Sc. iur. The meeting presented the project structure, communication plan and defined the duties of the individuals and institutions in the implementation of the project.
